Chebika is an oasis which lies at the foot of the Djebel el Negueb Mountains, close to the town of Tamerza, in the Djerid region. It was once a Roman outpost, but later became a mountain refuge for the Berber people.
Chebika is usually reached first, a route to Mides and Tamerza. It is probably the least famous of these oasis towns yet it is the most dramatic with its rugged rocks and steep-sided ravines.
In the summer it is quite depleted, but in the winter and the spring is far more productive and impressive, with water gushing out of the rocks.
Located about 53 km of Tozeur and 433 km of Tunis.
